Newton Main Street hosts Newton’s Farmers’ Market, which features a variety of vendors and runs from 4:00 to 6:00 pm every Tuesday, June through September, in downtown Newton. Cost is FREE. Items are available for purchase. The Market is authorized to participate in the WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP).
Kicking off the 40th season is the Johnny Cash tribute band Church of Cash, which will be performing 7 p.m. Sept. 26. According to Allied Concert Services, the group brings the legendary performer’s music to life with style and energy. Church of Cash has an unmatched loyalty to the songs Cash left behind.
Newton Public Library
Display your artistic talents and celebrate the love of books at our Bookish Birdhouses Art Show! Pick up a decorative birdhouse at the library beginning August 1st (while supplies last!) with a $1.00 deposit, and decorate it in honor of your favorite book or author. Return your completed birdhouse no later than September 5th to have your deposit returned and be included in our Bookish Birdhouses Art Show.
The decorated birdhouses will be on display inside the library September 8th - 30th.
Submissions should be family-friendly. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate! One birdhouse per person, please. Supplies are limited and we are not able to provide birdhouses to classrooms or businesses.

Pick up a free Take & Make Craft Kit and make your own Halloween clothespin magnets! Crafters will need to supply their own scissors and glue, all other materials will be included. Registration is encouraged to reserve your kit. Registration opens September 18. One kit per person, please. Ages 18+
In-person storytime for children ages 18 to 36 months with a caregiver. Storytime will last for 20 minutes with a simple craft following. Siblings are welcome to attend. Questions? Please contact Phyllis Peter at 641-792-4108.
