Join our NEW Winter Reading Program! Beat the cold weather blues by curling up with a good book. Pick up an adult Winter Reading bookmark and log the books, magazines, ebooks, and audiobooks you borrow from the library to earn entries into our weekly prize drawings. Prizes include movie tickets, tote bags, coffee gift cards, and more! Ages 18+ How to Participate: Pick up your reading log bookmark beginning Monday, January 3rd. Check out the adult books, magazines, ebooks, and audiobooks of your choice from the Newton Public Library and log them on your Winter Reading bookmark. Turn your completed bookmark in to the library Information Desk to be entered into our weekly prize drawings. There is no limit to the number of bookmarks you can enter!
Wondering what to read next? Check out our monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a new theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 library books and an adult craft. Return the books to the library when you're done with them - keep the craft! The January theme is "Buzzworthy Books". The January bags will include a selection of recent bestsellers, award winners, and well-reviewed books that you may have missed! The craft is a teacup winter wonderland fairy garden. Registration for the January mystery bag opens December 27th, at 10:00 a.m. Call the library at 641-792-4108 or direct message us on Facebook to reserve your mystery bag.
Join our new teen winter reading program for ages 13-18! Stop by the library and check out 3 books. Track the books on our old school due date card book log. Once you've read 3 books, turn in your book log to be entered in our prize drawing. Participants may submit as many book logs as they like. Program runs January 3 - February 28.
Join our new winter reading program for kids! Children ages 0-12 are invited to pick up a coloring sheet book log to track their reading. Participants will earn a new brag tag for every 5 books they log. The winter reading program will run January 3 - February 28.
Join us for baby storytime Monday mornings! Baby storytime lasts about 15 minutes and consists of one or two short books, songs, and bubble play time. This program is for ages newborn to 18 months with a caregiver. Siblings welcome.
