Wondering what to read next? Check out our monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and movies, and an adult craft. Return the books and movies when you're done with them - keep the craft! September's theme is "Books & Libraries". The September bag will include a selection of fiction and non-fiction books about libraries, book clubs, and book shops, as well as some of the library's most popular titles. The craft is a pumpkin Mason jar. Registration opens August 23. Please call the library at 641-792-4108 to register.

  2. The Vote is the Emblem of Our Equality

    September 15, 2021, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

August 26, 2020 marked the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote. In this program, historian Kathy Wilson investigates why women had to fight for decades to get the right to vote, why black and minority women were excluded from the national suffrage movement, and why we still struggle with women's rights today. If you would like to attend this free virtual program, please email Public Services Librarian, Becca Klein at to receive the link to join.
