    Wondering what to read next? Check out our new monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and movies, an adult craft, and other treats. Return the books and movies when you're done with them - keep the other goodies! May's theme is "Famous Faces". The May bag will include a selection of biographies and fiction books about some of history's most interesting and well-known figures. The craft is a button monogram on canvas. Registration opens April 19th. Call the library at 641-792-4108 to register.

  2. Food for Fines

    Pay down your library fines with food! During the week of May 10th, the Newton Public Library will be accepting non-perishable food donations as payment for overdue library fines. Donations will not be accepted for missing or damaged items. Expired food will not be accepted. Donations will be given to the Salvation Army Food Bank in Newton. 1 item = $1.00 in fines.

  3. Memory Lab Drop-In Hours

    Now is the perfect time to scan those old family photos! Drop-in on Tuesday mornings for an introduction to our new Memory Lab digitizing equipment. Our Public Services Librarian will be available during these designated hours to demonstrate how to use the equipment and help you start your own digitization project.
