September 21, 2020 - September 27, 2020
For the first time in 16 years, this event will be held virtually! Participants will have the options to complete a 6K or 3K distance while choosing their own route and finish line. Proceeds from the trail race will serve to benefit the natural resources and sustainability of Jasper County through the help of our non-profit group, Jasper Conservation Connection. A week-long event will give runners the best opportunity to train and race with regard to the current information surrounding COVID-19. After you complete your 3K or 6K, please email your time and the location of your run to firstname.lastname@example.org between September 21 and September 27, 2020. To complete the 3K or 6K at Jacob Krumm Nature Preserve, take I-80 to the Lynnville/Oakland Acres exit 179, go north about ½ mile and then turn east on Jacob Ave and follow the signs. Participants do not have to run at Krumm, just pick your favorite route and your favorite place and run for your health and for conservation!
September 23, 2020, 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM @ Intersection of Rusty Wallace Drive and Stan Clement Drive (formerly Lincoln Street); immediately east of Iowa Speedway’s administration building
Mayor Michael L. Hansen and Stan Clement’s family will take part in ribbon cutting dedicating Stan Clement Drive. The renaming of the 2500 – 2700 blocks of Lincoln Street to Stan Clement Drive was proposed by Mayor Michael L. Hansen to honor Stan Clement. Mr. Clement, who died on May 7, played a key role in the development of Iowa Speedway.
