Help families in need this holiday season by donating personal care items and warm winter gear. Drop off donations now through Dec. 13. Items needed include hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and socks, along with personal care items (toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, deodorant, toilet paper, laundry soap, etc.) to the US Cellular Authorized Agent - Premier Locations at 2617 1st Ave. E. in Newton (next to LaCabana). The items will be dispersed to area children and families in need by United Way of Jasper County and United Way partners.

Come welcome in the holiday season at Breakfast With Santa.
Enjoy eggs, sausage, pancakes and a drink for a freewill donation benefiting the Maytag Park Holiday Light Display. The event, hosted by Park Centre and Friends of Newton Parks, is open to all ages. Come enjoy breakfast, meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy holiday music and make and take-home crafts.

The Pink Ribbon Support Group and MercyOne Newton Medical Center’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation have teamed up to host this event! Please join us to support a great cause, be active and have fun! This family-friendly event has distances available to all ages. Each participant will receive a t-shirt* and jingle bells. All proceeds from the event will be donated to MercyOne Newton Cancer Care to support cancer services. *T-shirts are only guaranteed for participants who register before Nov. 22.
Start and finish will be in the northeast parking lot of MercyOne Newton, 204 N. 4th Ave. E. Prizes will be awarded to overall and age group winners in both the 5K and one-mile runs.
Registration and awards will be held in the Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation department on the lower level of the Ross Medical Arts Building.

It's the annual tour of homes to benefit Newton high school students! Five beautiful homes will be featured from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Tickets will be on sale in November, $10 a person, all proceeds go to charity. Save the Date!

The 2nd annual opening night event will feature a visit from Santa Claus and a special giveaway from sponsors Clemon-Maki Insurance. We will be hosting a toy drive for local children so bring a new, unwrapped gift to donate to St. Nick's Christmas Club! One by one, we learn each family member’s secrets, problems, and dysfunctions, and when they learn that he’s writing an article with some very personal family information, the fruitcake hits the fan. The question is, will the magic of Christmas bring this family back together?
