Newton Development Corporation announces the start of Workforce Wednesday. The first Wednesday of every month participating companies will have a dedicated time that job seekers can come to their workplace for individual attention with that employer.

The five businesses that are participating February 1st are all hiring for production jobs. Van Mannen Electric is also welcoming students that are looking for employment after high school to come visit so they can see what an apprenticeship would look like with them.

The five Newton businesses participating are:  Maytag Dairy Farms, Manatts, Newton Parts – Whirlpool, and Van Mannen Electric, Inc.

If these employers have success with this program we expect more employers to jump on board.
