Borrow eBooks and Audiobooks from the Library!

The Newton Public Library offers free downloadable ebooks and audiobooks for library card holders who reside in the city of Newton, Lambs Grove, and rural Jasper County. If you live in another town or county's library jurisdiction, please visit your home library to access downloadable materials.

Getting Started

To access the library's collection of downloadable books, follow the steps shown here on your tablet or mobile device, or download the print instructions linked below.

1. In your app store, search for Libby, by Overdrive. Install and open the app.
2. Once the app is downloaded, tap Find My Library. The app will determine your home library using your current location. If the suggested library is incorrect, search for your library by zip code or library name.
3. Sign in with your library card by tapping the Add Your Card button.
4. Select your library then sign in using your library card number and your PIN. This information will be stored in the app for future use.

Amazon Kindle Tablets

 The Libby app is not currently available for Kindle devices, but you may send your downloaded eBooks to a Kindle from your smartphone. For instructions on how to send downloaded books to a kindle from the Libby app on your phone, check out Reading with a Kindle on the Libby help site.
