The Newton Public Library has a certified notary public on staff during most open hours. If you need to have a signature witnessed by a notary public, bring your document and a government issued form of identification to the Library Information Desk, a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the library closing time. Examples of acceptable forms of identification include a valid drivers license, passport, or state ID.
We recommend calling the library in advance, to ensure that a notary will be available when you arrive. Notaries reserve the right to refuse to notarize any document, if they do not feel that all necessary criteria have been met. There is no charge for this service.
