Overview

The Newton Fire Department utilizes 3 engines and 1 ladder truck in fire protection efforts.

In 2011 the Insurance Services Organization (ISO) conducted a survey of the fire suppression capabilities of the Newton Fire Department. The Department maintained a classification of a 4. This classification is used by insurance companies to set insurance rates for the citizens and businesses of Newton. The lower the rating, the lower the insurance rates for our community. A rating of 4 is in the top 2.6% of fire departments in the State of Iowa and the top 15.3% nationally.
