Teen Art Camp & Gallery

The City of Newton’s Community Services Department | Parks & Rec and Centre for the Arts & Artists are inviting teens age 12 - 16 to create your own masterpieces! Artists get 3 days in creating their masterpieces of their choice of media of either drawing or painting followed by an art gallery open for the public to see their creations. Artists are strongly encouraged to attend the art gallery! This is a good experience to get a taste of what an art gallery is like and to hear feedback on their works.

Camp Dates: February 28 - March 2; 4:30 - 6:30 P.M.

Gallery Date: March 3; 6:30 - 7:30 P.M.

Where: Centre for Arts & Artists; 501 W 3rd St N; Newton, IA 50208

Artists must incorporate their work within the following theme: Objects/Animals Doing Human Activities. For example, you create a piece of any human activity but instead of a human being you are replacing the human with an object and/ or an animal. Be creative. There can be multiple scenes or a single scene of your choice.
