Emerald Ash Borer
In 2014, Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) was discovered in Newton. Emerald Ash Borer is an invasive insect that depends on ash trees for survival. The larva of the Emerald Ash Borer lives under the bark of the tree, feeding on the living tissue. Over time, the larva will eventually kill the tree. Millions of trees across the United States have already been impacted by this insect.
