Two police officers attended church security and active shooter training in Pleasant Hill on March 19th and 20th. The training focused on active shooter events and case studies relating to past violent acts on church property, sex crimes within churches, and overall safety and security of church parishioners and staff. The Police Department has been assisting some local churches over the couple of years with developing safety and security plan and this training will help to further develop and improve those plans. Churches who are interested in training should contact the Newton Police Department.
