City of Newton Council Member Jeremy Biondi has announced his resignation from the Newton City Council to focus on family, faith, and business. Biondi represented Ward 1 on City Council.

Biondi submitted his resignation from City Council effective January 1, 2018 stating, “I would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve. It has been a struggle to balance these duties and maintain my responsibilities as your Councilman. I have enjoyed my time serving on the City Council and look forward to helping the community that has supported Moo’s in the past three and a half years.”

“The City appreciates Jeremy Biondi’s service. He served well and takes with him the best wishes from his fellow City Council members and city staff,” said Mayor Michael L. Hansen.

The City Council will be tasked with filling the vacancy in Ward 1 at a future city council meeting.
